Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Chorley have allowed Proya Ahmadi to leave Victory Park in search of regular first team football.

Chorley manager Garry Flitcroft announced on Thursday that he had reluctantly agreed to release 'Rio' with immediate effect.

The Iranian-born striker progressed through the Sheffield United youth academy and joined the Magpies in early December 2011, making 39 appearances and scoring five times.

Flitcroft said: "Rio has enjoyed his time at the club and gave me everything in every game he played. Unfortunately I can’t guarantee him regular football which he wants and I respect him for that. Everyone at Chorley Football Club wishes him well in his future career."

The Premier Division's Magpies are due to welcome Adam Roscoe back to training on Thursday night ahead of the start of the new season next weekend.
