Successful race night for Pitmen

The Hednesford Town Supporters Association's race night proved to be another successful step forward in the fledgling history of the organisation as its members look forward to an exciting 2012.

Over seven hundred pounds was raised during Saturday evening as supporters celebrated their team's 6-1 hammering of Mickleover Sports earlier in the day.

Joint-chairman, Mark Goodwin, declared that the night had given the Association the opportunity to reach its aims for the next twelve months and wanted to thank the organisers and sponsors involved.

'It's great for us to be able to show we can help the Club with nights like these and I would like to thank not only Jas Singh and Ryan Cooper for organising the night but also our sponsors, Clive Lilley Butchers, Penparc Pet Supplies, Ansons Solicitors, Extra Personnel, Nuffield Health, peel2save and Beaver Heating for their kind support.'

The money raised will assist the Association with the running costs of reuniting the legendary 1996 Middlesbrough FA Cup team on February 18th and also assist the Independent Travel club in providing a coach to away matches throughout the season.

A large number of members re-signed for next year at the SA's open invitation in the Chase Suite prior to the Mickleover match in what was an all round successful day.

'We saw a great number of people renew their membership during the day and I would personally like to ask all fans to attend our Annual General Meeting in January to see how they can help us grow.'
