Summer storm floods pitch

By David Watters

Corby Town and Coalville Town will have to go again after their clash in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's top flight on Saturday was abandoned following a summer storm.

The EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division fixture at Steel Park was called off with seven minutes to go to the break with the score at 1-1 after the heavens opened before kick-off.

Stunned Steelmen officials say the torrential rain eased by what would have been half-time but by then the pitch was under 3 inches of standing water in places, pictured, and they were forced to send home more than 400 fans.
