Sunday's Premier Division action review

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division

A fantastic crowd of 2,465 saw third-placed FC United of Manchester and Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division leaders North Ferriby United share a 1-1 draw at Stalybridge Celtic's Bower Fold on Sunday.

Ferriby drew first blood in the 14th minute in somewhat controversial circumstances when the referee awarded the visitors a penalty after consulting one of his assistants, having originally given a goal kick.

Ryan Kendall duly converted from the spot to give the visitors the lead. But right on half-time FC United were back on level terms through Tom Greaves – his sixth goal in eight games.

The second half saw the home side's Adam Jones put a shot over the bar and Greaves test Ferriby keeper Adam Nicklin when through on goal. The vast majority in the big crowd later roared their disapproval towards the officials after Mike Norton was bundled over in the box and his penalty appeal was turned down.

The Rebels could have won the third versus first clash near the death but Ferriby keeper Nicklin pulled off a wonderful late save to deny sub Greg Daniels.
