The NPL Show

The makers of the The NLP Show have some sounds advice for fans over the coming days with storms expected to continue battering the country – start downloading and listen to a good old fashioned football debate to take your mind off the downpours and any more postponed games!

Released on Thursday, February’s podcast for the fans, players and officials of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League was recorded 24 hours earlier at the Magnet Inn in Stockport with hurricane force winds battering the area.

The gales couldn’t stop presenter Ben Hughes from gathering with regular pundits Swampy from FCUM Radio, New Mills manager Roy Soule, NPL Facebook Group member James Heyes, Aaron Flanagan from the Manchester Evening News and fellow journalist Ian Burke from BBC Radio Manchester.

They were joined on the latest show by three special guests taking shelter - journalist Andrew Simpson on all things Witton Albion, Halesowen Town supporter Rob Lloyd and Evo-Stik NPL Operations Manager Alan Allcock.

In the latter’s case quite literally. Instead of making his second appearance on the popular podcast, the NPL official had been due at the Etihad Stadium to see Manchester City’s postponed Premier League clash against Sunderland, called off on safety grounds by police.

The NPL Show was successfully launched in August with the league's backing by the team behind FCUM radio. To download February’s podcast entitled ‘There's No Place Like Home’, click here: The NPL Show February 2014.
