Talented keeper joins City of Liverpool

City of Liverpool have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Ryan Hamer.

Hamer, 19, was most recently at North West Counties Football League side Winsford United, where, after an impressive season with the Blues, he won their Young Player of the Year award.

The young keeper, who has experience at Step 3 with FC United of Manchester, joins the Purps after making some eye-catching performances as a trialist in pre-season.

Hamer's goalkeeping efforts ensured that the Purps emerged victors against his former club FC United and National League North side Chorley.

On his new acquisition between the sticks, City of Liverpool boss Michael Ellison said, "Ryan is a really talented young goalkeeper. He’s come in pre-season and really impressed in the games he’s played with some outstanding performances.

"He joins us on the back of a really good season with Winsford last year, getting their young player of the year and he wants to make that step up.

"He’s also got that little bit of experience playing a few games for FC United too.

"Ryan is a talented kid and it’s a really big season for him. If he carries on the way he is going and shows the form he’s shown in pre-season there’s no reason he can’t become an established keeper at this level and maybe levels above.

"I’m really looking forward to working with him and I’m excited for him!"
