Teen stopper killed in road accident

Coalville Town and Mickleover Sports will hold a minute's silence in memory of Luke Samples before kicking off in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League on Tuesday night after the Ravens teenager was killed in a road traffic accident.

Saddened officials at the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division's Ravens say the talented stopper with their U18s and former captain of Leicestershire U18's county representative side lost his life in a crash on Saturday.

A spokesman for the Leicestershire club said: "It is with deep regret and sadness that Coalville Town announce that their talented goalkeeper from the U18's side Luke Samples lost his life in a road accident on Saturday.

"Everyone at the club sends their deepest sympathies to his family, friends and teammates at this very sad time. There will be a minute's silence ahead of tomorrow night's first team game against Mickleover at Owen Street."
