Scarborough Athletic have signed Hull City keeper Jason Cracknell after Jason White left the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League to switch to AFC Mansfield.

The NCEL Division One outfit approached the Seadogs for his services last week and the 30-year-old made the switch from First Division North on Monday.

Joint managers Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes moved swiftly to replace White who played in the Football League for Mansfield and signed for former manager Rudy Funk last season before going on to make 67 appearances.

In a statement announcing his departure, the club said: "During his time at the club, Jason has proven consistently to be an excellent all-round keeper and a firm fans favourite. He leaves Scarborough Athletic on the best of terms with the club, management and his team-mates, and we know fans will join us in extending our best wishes to Jason for the future."

Cracknell, pictured, has arrived at Queensgate on loan until January 1 and was available to play against Pickering Town in Tuesday night’s North Riding Senior Cup first round win for the Seadogs on penalties.

The 20-year-old was on loan at the Seadogs last season, impressing in seven appearances and making a number of key penalty saves.
