Tom Clare hopeful Love Island appearance can provide boost for Macclesfield

Macclesfield striker Tom Clare is hopeful his appearance on reality show Love Island can provide a financial boost for The Silkmen.

Clare finished third on the show, and hopes his new found fame results in extra fans through the gate at the Leasing.com stadium.

“It’s good for Macclesfield as well,” he told Sky Sports.

“They are a huge club anyway, but to be more in the public eye and hopefully I can bring more fans through the gate. It’s all revenue for the club.

“Robbie (Savage) and everyone behind the scenes have worked so hard. I don't know if people saw the documentary they did, but if you see from the start to now, the work that has gone into it people don’t see and it’s amazing.

“If I can bring more fans to the game, more revenue then I would be so happy. I’d be buzzing because I have so much love for the club.”
