Tooth makes first moves

Sutton Coldfield Town

Neil Tooth has made his first signings as manager of Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Sutton Coldfield Town ahead of Tuesday night’s Birmingham Senior Cup tie against Tamworth.

Ryan Simmonds has joined from local side Sutton United. As a youngster, Simmonds played for Aston Villa before earning a professional contract at Brighton.

Louis Keenan has also joined the Royals on a month’s loan from NPL Premier Division neighbours Rushall Olympic ahead of the county cup clash at Coles Lane.

And as reported previously, Reece Leek has also joined the Royals from Willenhall Town and is also in Tooth’s squad for the clash with the Conference Premier outfit.

Tooth said: "I'm delighted to bring the three lads in. Reece Leek has done well in the games he has been involved in and in training and offers me options in a number of positions.

"Simmo has been in a few weeks but picked up an ankle injury in training but should resume full training next week but he`s someone who started very well this season over at Sutton United and we are delighted to get him, as there was a lot of interest in him.

"We've brought Louis in from Rushall and again he gives me options at full-back and further up the pitch. We had Louis here last season during pre-season after he left Walsall before he moved over to Rushall."
