Tough week for Buxton on and off the pitch

By James Gordon

It’s all change at Buxton with injuries and recalls forcing them in to two new signings.

They remain winless in the BetVictor Northern Premier, having gone down 2-1 at Morpeth Town on Saturday, with former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Warren Clarke and defensive midfielder Aaron Chalmers both making their debuts.

Chalmers joined on loan from Premier Division rivals Ashton United.

Youngster Louie Davies also penned first team forms, becoming the first player from the new academy set up to progress.

Club captain Callum Chippendale is still awaiting a full assessment on the broken leg he suffered against Bamber Bridge last Tuesday, while Spennymoor Town have recalled Jake Hibbs early from his own.

Nico De Girolamo and Jude Oyibo were absent, and they missed the trip to Morpeth along with Liam Hardy and Ash Young.

The Bucks have managed three draws and five defeats from their eight games so far, leaving them languishing in the relegation zone.

They are in FA Cup action this Saturday at home to Corby Town.
