Treble boost for promotion chasing Rams

Ramsbottom United manager Chris Willock has signed three new players ahead of this week's transfer deadline to boost their promotion push.

Midfielder Spencer Harris, 28, arrives from Boston United and he made a goalscoring debut in the 2-0 win over Prescot Cables in the EVO-STIK League West Division on Saturday.

His former clubs include Huddersfield Town, Guiseley, Buxton, Farsley Celtic, Hyde United and Shaw Lane, where he worked with Willcock.

Another debutant on Saturday was goalkeeper Dale Latham, 27, who has been brought in to provide cover for Sam Ashton.

Latham has plenty of experience having turned out for the likes of Avro, Mossley, Droylsden, Salford City and Winsford United.

Completing the trio of new signings is Jack Kay, who arrives on dual-registration from FA Trophy finalists AFC Fylde.

Kay, 21, is a midfielder that has made 37 appearances in the National League this season.
