Trophy hunters paired at Wembley!

By David Watters

The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's flag-bearers in the FA Trophy are running the rule over their next opponents in Non-League's showpiece competition after the draw for the final qualifying round was made at Wembley at lunchtime.

The FA Trophy's third qualifying round kicks off on Saturday 28 November with 16 EVO-STIK NPL clubs still hoping to be involved in the 40 ties scheduled and competing for another £4000 in prize money.

Five clubs face replays first. Ilkeston FC or Stocksbridge Park Steels, who meet again on Tuesday night after drawing 1-1 on Saturday, will travel to holders and former EVO-STIK NPL champions North Ferriby United.

If Rushall Olympic can get past Leamington, the Pics will host another former EVO-STIK NPL club, Hednesford Town, now of National League North.

Burscough await the outcome of the final replay between Kidsgrove Athletic and Marine on Wednesday night before they travel to the winners in one of three possible all EVO-STIK NPL clashes. The other two will see Stourbridge host Spennymoor Town while Blyth Spartans were booked to travel to Matlock Town in an all top flight tie.

Elsewhere, Warrington Town are now preparing to host AFC Fylde. Nantwich Town, 5-1 winners over King's Lynn Town at the weekend, were rewarded at Wembley for the rout with a trip to Stockport County's Egley Park.

This season's FA Trophy Final takes place at Wembley on Sunday 22 May 2016. For the first time ever, the FA Vase is also being played at the national stadium earlier in the day as part of a new Non-League double header.
