Truscott exit down to day job

Huckall Town have parted company with manager Jason Truscott and say they won't be rushing into appointing his replacement.

Yellows coach Darren Kelk has taken charge of first team affairs at Watnall Road after the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club revealed that Truscott had left following unresolved issues with a former employer.

Truscott departed by mutual agreement on Tuesday night. On Wednesday a Yellows spokesman said they had every confidence in Kelk holding the fort as they launched the hunt to find a permanent replacement for their former manager.

Appointing Truscott's successor will see Hucknall hand the managerial reigns to their fourth manager or management team of the season. Brett Marshall was first to go when he quit in October. He was followed by joint managers Gary Sucharewycz and Ian Robinson. They stepped down before Christmas on the same day as Chairman Derek Blow quit the club with Truscott taking over soon afterwards.

Hucknall's spokesman said: "Both parties feel it's the right decision at this present moment. The club won't be making a rush decision on appointing another manager as Darren Kelk will oversee the running of the first team.

"Darren himself has managerial experience at Evo-Stik NPL level and has worked alongside some great managers including John Ramshaw so he is no stranger to Non-League football.

"Hucknall town would like to thank Jason for all his efforts in his short time in charge and wish him all the best for the future."

Applications for Hucknall's vacant managerial post should be sent in writing to: Hucknall Town FC, Watnall Road, Hucknall, Notts, NG15 6EY.
