The only game in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division North on Tuesday night saw Farsley FC move into fourth place after a narrow 1-0 win against neighbouring Ossett Town at Ingfield, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
Town are in the midst of a disappointing run of results after a promising start to the campaign, having won just once in their last seven games, but they look to be improving.
Home keeper Rob Peet made one or two fine saves to keep the scoreline level at half-time but the breakthrough for Farsley came on 65 minutes when defender Matt Dempsey scored with a far post header from a corner.
Farsley's keeper Ben Higginson later made an excellent save from Town's Jimmy Eyles to keep their lead intact but they held on fairly comfortably to move into the top five.
