Curzon Ashton returned to the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division North table after edging out third-bottom Wakefield by the odd goal in five at Belle Vue on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
Niall Cummins gave the high-flying visitors an early 12th minute lead that Simon Woodford doubled nine minutes before half-time. However, the highly-rated Rob Bordman, who has recently signed a new deal with Wakefield, grabbed a brace in the 58th and 66th minutes to take his tally to nineteen for the season to date and pull the home side back on level terms. Parity lasted barely a minute as Matty Warburton restored Curzon's 3-2 advantage – a lead they held on to win and take over top spot.
