Ramsbottom United moved to within two points of a play-off spot in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division North on Tuesday night after a hard-fought 2-0 win against rock-bottom Ossett Albio, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
The Harry Williams Stadium passed a morning pitch inspection, but it was the windy conditions that caused both sides the biggest problem. Albion held their hosts until half-time and then Rammy grabbed the all-important breakthrough just before the hour-mark when Grant Spencer. And the home fans could relax further within three minutes as Rammy made it 2-0 with a fine strike from 25 yards from Jordan Hulme.
