Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South leaders Halesowen Town went down to a 3-0 home defeat topromotion-rivals Coalville Town on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Ravens took a 26th minute lead when Yeltz goalkeeper Matt Sargeant came rushing off his line and brought down Coalville striker Anthony Carney. The recently returned Cameron Stuart converted the resultant spot-kick.

Coalville increased their advantage on 58 minutes, again from the penalty spot, with Stuart converting again after home defender Curtis Tilt was judged to have brought down Carney. And the visitors wrapped up victory 10 minutes from time when Jamie McAteer headed home from close range from Stuart's corner.

Mickleover Sports moved into fourth place after inflicting a third straight defeat on promotion-rivals Scarborough Athletic at the Raygar Stadium.

The visitors had problems before the game started as they had two players stuck in traffic and had to re-shuffle. And before they had time to settle, Sports were ahead through Chris Palmer`s 20 yard effort after five minutes. Palmer was credited with the second goal after 23 minutes, although it looked as though his in-swinging corner was forced over the line by Romaine Graham.

Boro were back in the game less than four minutes later when a Tom Davies effort was deflected past home `keeper Chris Martin. Both sides had chances to score after that, but Sports held firm to move above Sutton Coldfield Town into fourth, while Scarborough remain eighth, five points adrift of the top five.

The other game on Tuesday saw Sheffield FC move above Goole AFC into thirteenth place in the table after a 3-0 success at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.

Andy Gascoigne gave Club a 17th minute lead, but it wasn`t until 20 minutes from time that they were able to relax when Mark Fereday doubled their advantage. Four minutes later Joel Purkiss made sure with Sheffield's third.
