Nantwich thought they had taken the lead in the 12th minute as Harry Clayton’s shot hit the underside of the bar and bounced down but no goal was given. The home side did go ahead eight minutes later though, as Clayton was played through on goal through the left channel area and he slotted well past Matt Gould.
Matt Bell went close with an effort for Nantwich early in the second period, but the Dabbers did double their lead in the 67th minute. Recent signing Jordan Cole, just off the bench, received the ball on the edge of the area and curled his shot past Gould.
The win lifted the Dabbers up to 18th, but dropped the Glassboys to 11th and seven points off the play-off places.
There was one game in the EVO-STIK League North on Tuesday and it saw Droylsden move up to seventh in the table, just a point off the top six, after a 1-0 Butcher`s Arms victory over mid-table Ramsbottom United.
However, the Bloods left it very late, Luke Daley heading the only goal in the first minute of stoppage time at the end of the game.
