There were only a couple of matches in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
Struggling Stamford AFC gained a good victory over mid-table Buxton at Kettering Road to move level on points with fifth-bottom Witton Albion. However, many of the crowd had already left when Shawn Richards finally broke the deadlock deep into time added on at the end of the game. Buxton had been down to ten-men after Leon Osbourne was given a straight red card just before half-time for a two-footed challenge on Nathan Haines.
FC United of Manchester have been inconsistent to date this season, but could have gone into fourth place had they won at the Weaver Stadium against Nantwich Town. However, the game ended all-square at one apiece, with Andy Pearson putting the Rebels in front right on half-time. Aaron Burns` tenth goal of the season pulled the Dabbers back on level terms after 64 minutes.
