By David Watters

EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division

Tuesday's only game in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division saw Frickley Athletic earn a crucial 2-1 win at Westfield Lane against FA Cup heroes Blyth Spartans, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Reece Thompson scored twice, the second with the last kick of the game, as the Blues came from behind.

Michael Richardson gave the visitors a 14th minute lead in a tight first half but the hosts` took the game to the Spartans after the break and deservedly equalised through Thompson in the 55th minute.

Gavin Allott saw a 78th minute penalty saved before Thompson grabbed the winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

The three points lifts Frickley level on points with Blyth, who possess five games in hand, and seven points in front of the drop zone.
