Steven Mason headed home an Adam Morning corner to give the hosts a 21st minute breakthrough. But it wasn`t until 11 minutes into the second half that Rammy conceded a second through Morning’s header.
Morning turned provider once again in the 63rd minute as Ashton made it 3-0 with the third header of the evening and Mason`s second.
A minute later, sub Eddie Toner intercepted a poor back pass to make it 4-0 and then Dale Johnson made it a nap hand with Ashton`s third goal in four minutes.
Five minutes from time, defender Joe Connor chipped home number six to give Ashton great confidence ahead of Saturday`s big derby at home against second-placed Salford City.
