Tuesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Rushall Olympic welcomed lower mid-table Mickleover Sports to Dales Lane on Tuesday night looking to move eight points clear at the top of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division table, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

However, their Christmas was slightly ruined by the Derbyshire visitors, who returned home with all three points.

Sports took a 13th minute lead from the penalty spot which Connor Hall converted. And they doubled their advantage two minutes before the half-time break when experienced defender Pablo Mills smashed the ball into roof of net after a corner hadn`t been cleared properly.

The Pics did eventually get themselves on the scoresheet but it wasn`t until seven minutes from time when Joe Hull hooked the ball back into empty net after the Sports `keeper failed to punch clear effectively.
