Whitby Town flew from ninth to fourth after a comfortable 4-1 win against relegation-threatened Halesowen Town at the Turnbull Ground.
It didn`t start well for the hosts though as Liam Slade put the Yeltz ahead inside the opening three minutes. Crucially, however, Mikey Roberts equalised a minute before half-time. Just shy of the hour-mark, Matty Tymon put the Seasiders in front and 10 minutes later it was all over bar the shouting when Dale Hopson added Whitby`s third.
Dave Carson made it 4-1 with 15 minutes left, although it turned a little sour for Whitby near the end when Tymon was shown a red card following an altercation with Asa Charlton. The Yeltz are now level on points with fourth-bottom Frickley Athletic.
Skelmersdale United remain rooted to the bottom of the table after losing a `six-pointer` at Stormy Corner to third-bottom Sutton Coldfield Town.
Glenn Cameron gave the home side the boost of an early fourth minute lead which was immediately cancelled out by Josh Venney. Dave Howarth finally put the Royals in front after 69 minutes and then three minutes from time, Aaron Birch made sure the points with a third to leave them just a couple of points behind Frickley.
As for Skem, they are looking doomed, being 21 points adrift of the safety-mark with only 27 points left to fight for.
Ilkeston FC are only four points better off than Skelmersdale after losing 2-1 at the New Manor Ground to Stafford Rangers to sink into deeper trouble.
Kyle Perry gave Rangers a 14th minute lead that Izak Reid doubled just six minutes later. Luis Rose reduced the arrears for the Robins, but they weren`t able to find a leveller.
They too require something remarkable to happen to avoid the drop, although they do possess games in hand on all around and above them.
