Ossett Albion striker Tom Corner could be lining up for Bradford Park Avenue against Histon on Saturday in Conference North after moving for an undisclosed fee from the Unicorns on Friday.

The Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club said a deal was finally struck for Corner, pictured, following lengthy negotiations.

With Corner looking likely to leave the Warehouse Systems Stadium, joint managers Lloyd Fellowes and Paul Watson moved quickly to replace him with former Matlock Town, Retford United and Winterton Rangers striker Liam Wilkin ahead of Ramsbottom United’s arrival on Saturday .

The frontman has been playing on dual registration for Matlock Town and Retford United. Highly-rated, he was the leading score in the Northern Counties East League with more than 30 goals a couple of the seasons ago.

Albion Chairman Stephen Hanks admits the Dimple Wells outfit will miss Corner but says they couldn’t stand in his way.

Hanks said: "It is sad when you lose the services of a player of the quality of Tom but as a club we have never stood in the way of a player who wants to progress. We are sure that Tom will be a success at Bradford and that he will go on to even greater things.

"We'd like to thanks Tom for the service he has given to Ossett Albion and wish him all the success for the future. We’ll be mapping his progress with interest.

Welcoming Corner’s replacement, he added: "We are delighted to secure the services of a proven striker in Liam and we hope that he will have a long, happy and successful stay at Ossett Albion."
