Wakefield celebrate top FA award

Wakefield

Proud Wakefield are the latest Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club to achieve 'Charter Standard’ status from the Football Association.

The First Division North’s Bears are celebrating after announcing that they’d received formal accreditation as an FA Charter Standard Adult Club at the end of November. The award formally recognises the commitment of clubs to raising standards throughout football by providing a positive experience for players, coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers.

Club development is an integral part of the FA’s National Game Strategy and the Evo-Stik NPL is currently encouraging all its member clubs to become Charter Standard accredited in order to eventually become a Charter Standard League. Wakefield’s accreditation at their Belle Vue ground follows the success elsewhere this year of a number of other clubs in achieving the status.

First Division South Brigg were the last club to be recognised by the FA in September. The Zebras achieved their new status after persuading the club's junior section to forgo their own application to successfully join forces and see the club as a whole rewarded by the FA for the high standards it was setting at The Hawthorns.
