Watch the stars of the season win Royle approval!

Fans can now watch former Everton, Manchester City and Oldham Athletic manager Joe Royle handing out the accolades at the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s 2013-14 Players of the Year Awards thanks to specially produced video on the league’s official website.

The highlights of the NPL’s third annual awards were posted online at lunchtime on Wednesday by the league’s partners at Barnsley College. The college's media students and lecturers have covered the event at the four star Brooklands Holiday Inn near Barnsley since it was first held in April 2012 when World Cup bound referee Howard Webb honoured the league’s top performers.

As well as crowning Mossley’s 82-year-old Kath Field as the Evo-Stik NPL’s inaugural Supporter of the Year, pictured, Royle, 64, can be seen honouring the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in each of the Evo-Stik NPL's three divisions as well as those named in each NPL Team of the Year, as voted for by their managers and coaches in a secret ballot.

The brainchild of former Manchester City keeper and NPL man Alan Ogley, the Evo-Stik NPL Players of the Year Awards are a unique celebration at the top levels of Non-League football with the focus purely on recognising the success of players and their impact on the campaign.
