Weather claims its first victim

By James Gordon

The first weather-enforced postponement of the season in the EVO-STIK Leagues has occurred.

Workington's game against Witton Albion in the Premier Division is off due to a waterlogged pitch at Borough Park.

The club said: "Constant rain throughout Cumbria has put paid to the Reds match against the Albion at Borough Park this afternoon.

"This follows on from Met Office warnings of some localised flooding in Cumbria because of rain from Storm Callum over the next 36 hours. The Environment Agency says it expects to issue flood alerts and some flood warnings.

The Shankly Bar will be open today between 1 - 2 pm for fans to view the new stadium plans and discuss the new stadium vision with Directors.
