Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium hosts Stoke City’s clash with Manchester United in the new Under 21s Premier League tomorrow.
Stoke's inaugural clash in the new league is also being filmed on United’s in-house channel MUTV and takes place while the Dabbers are away at Matlock on the opening day of the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division.
The new league replaces the PL’s old Reserve League and was set up to bridge the gap between Academy football and the professional game. Like Team GB at the Olympics, clubs are allowed to include three over 23s players as well as a senior goalkeeper.
The Potters are have elected to use Nantwich Town’s home ground as their base for their Group 2 fixtures this season which are free to fans. Four further games already scheduled to take place at the Weaver Stadium before Christmas. Kick off is at 11am.
