Wednesday's First Division North action review

By David Watters

Northwich Victoria moved three points clear at the top of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North table on Wednesday night after an impressive 5-1 win over tenth-placed Mossley AFC, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Vics showed just why they are promotion favourites with a comprehensive success that saw them lead 3-0 by half-time at the NetDec Stadium.

Ryan Astles gave the hosts an early eighth minute lead that Gary Burnett doubled in the 25th minute, with Aboubacar Sanogo adding the third just past the half-hour mark.

David Short pulled one back for the Lilywhites 11 minutes after the restart to give Vics a jolt and they responded with two more from Josh Amis after 64 minutes and Richard Bennett five minutes from the end of normal time.
