Darlington missed the opportunity to move up to third in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division North table on Wednesday night when they lost 1-0 at Heritage Park to mid-table Ramsbottom United, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
A crowd of 899 witnessed what was the first home league defeat for the Quakers since March 2012 when they were still members of the Football Conference.
The only goal of the game came after 31 minutes, courtesy of Phil Dean, earned Rammy a league 'double' over Darlington having won the reverse fixture at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium 3-0 back in September.
