Chasetown moved away from the bottom group with a 3-1 win at home to Widnes, who are now five points behind the top 10.

George Lomax had fired Widnes in to the lead after 21 minutes, but Chasetown turned it around before the break through James Askey and William Whieldon, before Thomas Hill added gloss in second half injury time.

Trafford suffered their third defeat in five as they went down 2-0 at home to Newcastle Town.

Rod Orlando-Young’s penalty and Jordan Cole’s strike moves Newcastle level on points with Droylsden in mid-table.
