Wilson: Confidence key to Cup clash

FA Cup

Ilkeston manager Kevin Wilson is calling on his Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division side to forget their travel woes and produce something special in the FA Cup at AFC Fylde.

The Robins lost at Stafford Rangers on Tuesday, going down 2-1 as they fell to their fifth defeat away from home on the bounce.

They have yet to claim a point on tbe road but have four wins and a draw from cup competitions and their manager believes confidence will be key at Kellamergh Park in Saturday's Fourth Qualifying Round tie.

Wilson told the ThisIsNottingham website: "In the league, we have not done anything away from home and the midweek match was another disappointment. It was not a good performance. The problem is we have never got in front in those games, we are always looking to come from behind and it is difficult to do that.

"Some of our best performances have come in the Cup and we just have to start taking our chances in matches. In the FA Cup things change, all the systems with results count for nothing so we go to Fylde confident.

He added: "It is a special competition and I am looking for a special performance from our players. We have got ourselves in front early and we need to do that again so we will go there thinking we have lost just one game in our last six and full of confidence."
