Now 46, the striker turned for a host clubs including Aberdeen, Oxford United, Bradford City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Darlington before playing in Non-League at Barton Town Old Boys, Scarborough Atheltic and most recently Walkington the East Riding.
As well as somehow being once sent off three times in a game for Aberdeen and allegedly getting a good grip on an opponent's testicles at Bradford City, the Sky Sports pundit scored the only goal of the 2008 Football League Championship play-off final to take the Hull to the top flight for the first time in their history. In scoring his last Premier League goal at the age 39, he became the club's oldest-ever scorer.
Windass was at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium last Friday night. After a three course meal, he entertained a packed out venue at The Gingerbread Grantham venue with some great stories of his career as well as speaking about his experiences in dealing with depression.

The evening - sponsored by Newton Fallowell and supported by many of the club's sponsors including Duncan & Toplis, Gusto Group, Yesss Electrical, McGarvey Ltd and Cardinal Bookkeeping - was hailed by officials this week as a great success after raising some much-needed funds for the Premier Division club.
