Witton Albion Welcome Shaun Tuck

Witton Albion are pleased to announce the signing of Skelmersdale United leading goalscorer Shaun Tuck after protracted negotiations were finally completed following a lunchtime meeting at a venue just off the M56 today (Sunday 15 July).

Tuck, who topped the goal scoring charts in the Evo-Stik Division One North at the end of the 2011/12 season, signed for an undisclosed fee and joins Albion on a two year contract as a direct replacement for Alex Titchiner, who has moved on to Football League side Fleetwood Town.

Chairman Mark Harris said: "We had hoped to have signed Shaun last month but it was not to be, but we were delighted to have been able to resurrect the deal within the last seven days. I'd like to thank Skem chairman Paul Griffiths for all his help in concluding this transfer"

"Naturally we're delighted that he has finally put pen to paper, and if he creates the same problems for defences next season as he did last, then we are in for an interesting 12 months."

The player himself added: "I've known a number of the Albion players for some time, and have played in the same side as them in the past, so in that respect I'm not coming in completely cold. They also told me how they enjoy being at the club and you can't have a better recommendation than that."

Albion supporters wont have to wait long to see Tuck in action as he is expected to wear the Albion shirt for the first time at the pre season friendly fixture with neighbours Lostock Gralam on Tuesday.
