Witton management duo extend deals

Witton Albion management duo Carl Macauley and Gary Martindale have signed new two-year deals.

Macauley returned to the club as manager in October 2015 after having previously spent two successful years as a player at Wincham Park between 1994 and 1996.

The pair had previously worked together at Vauxhall Motors and Marine before joining as a duo at Wincham Park, helping the club to promotion back into the Northern Premier League Premier Division in 2017 via the play-offs.

They are now committed to Wincham Park until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Chairman John Salmon said: "I have been in discussions with the Management Team and have been extremely impressed with the way Carl and Gary have coped with the poor hand they were dealt with at the beginning of the season.

"I am delighted to inform you that they have agreed to extend their contracts for a period of two years taking us to May 2022."

Meanwhile, the groundshare agreement with North West Counties side Northwich Victoria has been extended until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The two clubs have shared the facility in recent times, with support for pitch and stadium maintenance provided by volunteers and staff from both clubs.
