Workington exit for Tom Mahone

Workington midfielder Tom Mahone has left the club to pursue an opportunity with Northern Football League side Carlisle City.

Mahone joined the club earlier in the year from Cleator Moor Celtic after impressing during pre-season.

He went on to make eight appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

Discussing the departure, manager Danny Grainger said: “Tom’s attitude has been fantastic. He has trained really hard and has been unlucky not to be in the team more due to his work commitments and other things.

“He has always been a fantastic player in training and his attitude has been great.”
