World Cup chance for leading scorer

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League striker Ryan Robbins has been called up top play in the World Cup.

The Stamford AFC forward, pictured, is set to represent St Kitts & Nevis in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers in March.

The club's leading scorer this season, the 26-year-old has scores 15 goals in the Premier Division so far despite being injured with a broken foot for two months.

Robbins played for Coalville Town in the 2011 FA Vase Final at Wembley and was previously with Friar Lane & Epworth. He joined the Daniels in August 2013 and was top scorer last season.

His Caribbean international side, known as The Sugar Boyz, are ranked 120th in the FIFA World Rankings.

They will play Turks and Caicos Islands at home on March 23 and then away on March 26 in round one of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup from the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association (CONCACAF) area.

Robbins’ Stamford team mate Jordan Smith played for Antigua and Barbuda in Caribbean Cup in Jamaica earlier this season.
