Wrens bank on Stags youth

Rainworth Miners Welfare are looking forward to a fresh financial boost after agreeing a deal with Mansfield Town for their youth teams to play at Kirklington Road this season.

The Wrens say the Stags offered an attractive financial package to use their ground and that the new agreement helps to make up for the recent disappointment when their Conference neighbours were unable to send a first team for a scheduled friendly.

That was down to injuries and illness, circumstances beyond Mansfield's control, and Wrens manager Kevin Gee is delighted the clubs are working together again.

He said: "It’s just one more example of the relationship we have with the bigger clubs in our area. Instead of taking umbrage because of the side they sent to play us, we continue to work with them for the benefit of both clubs."
