Xmas toy collection starts for kids

EVO-STIK League Scarborough Athletic are teaming up with the Salvation Army and their local Rotary Club to launch a Christmas toys appeal.

The Seadogs, the Scarborough Citadel Salvation Army and the Rotary Club of Scarborough are collecting toys for local children in need this Christmas in the build-up to a special Carol and Toy service at the Sally Army's base on Sunday 10 December.

The EVO-STIK League North club's supporters are being asked to bring along unwrapped Christmas toys to their next three home games at the Flamingo Land Stadium, starting with Trafford in EVO-STIK League North on Saturday 18 November.

Club officials say they will also help with collecting larger items or where supporters cannot get to the fixtures. For more information visit the club's website or follow @safc on Twitter.

Currently third in EVO-STIK League North, Steve Kittrick's side are away at Prescot Cables on Saturday hoping to keep pace with leaders Bamber Bridge and second-placed South Shields.
