Yaxley announce permanent managerial appointment

Yaxley FC have announced the appointment of Simon Roberts as their new manager on a permanent basis.

Roberts had returned to the club back in March to assist Lloyd Burton as First Team Manager, following the dismissal of Sammy Mould.

Although he and Burton could not stop the Cuckoo’s relegation, the club decided to stick with Roberts for the new season.

In a statement, the club said: “Using his great coaching skills and extensive knowledge of the local area on and off the pitch, Simon (who is based locally) will get to work straight away.

“Working closely with the committee on its full rebuild project, assembling a local management team to support him, a locally based core squad of players, developing a pathway for our youths and actively encouraging their progression into the first team environment along with supporting our exciting growth plans off the pitch for the local community.”

The club have also confirmed a fans forum will be held, the details for which will be announced in due course. This will allow the club to pitch their ideas going forward to the fans.
