Youngsters can't lose!

Worksop Town are donating every penny earned from Saturday's Evo-Stik Northern Premier League play-off showdown with FC United of Manchester to the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.

The Tigers are expecting their biggest gate of the season for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division clash and have revealed that Chairman Jason Clark has told the hospital to expect a bumper donation. Everything from the gate receipts to the profits from their regular 'Tigers 50-50 Prize Draw' is earmarked for one of the region's major children's hospitals. With adult tickets priced at £10 the Tigers are hoping to write a five figure cheque.

Worksop are also planning a bucket collection at Sandy Lane and Tigers Secretary and President Keith Ilett has confirmed they are also be taking care of all matchday costs to make the maximum donation possible after Clark decided to exploit the fixture's charitable potential.

Ilett called the move 'fantastic' and said it had reinforced the esteem Clark was held in by fans and the pride he'd given the Tigers following previous charitable gestures on their behalf.

Businessman Clark, 38, took over two years ago, clearing the club's debts before underwriting their current challenge, and Ilett said: "Everybody at the club thinks this is a fantastic gesture but it is certainly not a surprise coming from Jason. He sits with the fan, he eats with the fans and he drinks with the fans. When we're away he doesn't even use his Chairman's pass and pays his way.

"I have never known a Chairman who is so involved and down to earth and once again he's decided to do something we are all very proud of. We're hoping for a great game and a big crowd on Saturday with FC United of Manchester's help. Whatever the result, everyone will know that the children's hospital will be benefitting which is fantastic for everyone connected with both clubs."
