Youth United Day - 24th March

Free entry for under 18s to Worksop Town clash

FC United of Manchester's annual young people's showcase, Youth United Day, will take place on Saturday 24 March 2012.

The day, which coincides with FC United's home game with Worksop Town at Gigg Lane, provides a unique opportunity for youth groups, whether involved in football or not, to promote themselves before a wider audience and to get involved in a range of activities.

Momentum for Youth United Day is growing, with FC United keen to attract as many young people as possible to take part. Under 18s and students at The Manchester College, Bury College and Holy Cross College, Bury, have an extra incentive to get involved as they can get into FC United's game that day for free.

FC United spokesman Andy Walker said: "Activities on the day include a parade of youth achievement, dance and drama workshops, street football, banner and flag making, a climbing wall, face painting, badge making, photos and autographs with FC United players and much more. We hope that schools and youth groups across Greater Manchester will get involved in Youth United Day to celebrate their achievements and promote what they are doing."

The fan-owned cooperative club is asking for people with links to youth organisations or groups, junior football/sports clubs who would like to help or get involved in Youth United Day to contact youthunitedday@fc-utd.co.uk or promotions@fc-utd.co.uk

The Youth United Day committee can also be contacted on 07792 833 086 or via the FC United office on 0161 273 8950.
