1874 Northwich legend reaches new milestone

1874 Northwich midfielder Matt Woolley has reached a career milestone of 400 appearances for the club.

Woolley, 33, is the longest-serving player at the '74, making his debut in December 2013.

During his 10-year stay with the Cheshire-based outfit, he has lifted two Macron Cups, one Mid-Cheshire Senior Cup, two promotions and runs to the third qualifying round and the semi-finals in the FA Cup and FA Vase, respectively.

Despite operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, Woolley has scored 46 goals across his 400 appearances.

In November 2023 and February 2024, he took over the reins of the club as interim manager alongside fellow club veteran Mark Jones, a role he currently occupies.
