Spennymoor Town manager Jason Ainslsey has called Lee McAndrew a ‘model professional’ after he left the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League’s newboys on Monday.

The 29-year-old, pictured signing for Ainsley in May from the Northern League’s Dunstan UTS, left Brewery Field in search of regular first team football.

McAndrew can play on either flank or through the middle and weighed in with 12 goals in his fourth and final season at Dunston UTS before becoming Ainsley’s second signing of the summer at the promoted Northern League champions.

Ainsley said: "Lee can argue that he hasn’t had a great deal of opportunities to start and I accept that but the tremendous performances Anthony Peacock has been putting in has been a major factor in that.

"Lee has decided he wants to play week in week out which is something I couldn’t guarantee him. He has been a model professional whilst with us and is a top lad to go with it. I wish him every success at his new club."

The Moors also announced on Monday that Ainsley had agreed to allow Richard Archer to join the Northern League’s Newton Aycliffe on a short term loan deal to gain more game time and experience.

Ainsley added: "It’s hard for Richie to come on for us and make an impact when he hasn’t played much football so for both parties the move will certainly benefit us and we will be monitoring him very closely."
