Sutton Coldfield Town are the new leaders of the EVO-STIK League's First Division South table following a 2-0 Coles Lane win over bottom-markers Kidsgrove Athletic on Saturday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Royals, still yet to taste defeat in the league, took a 24th minute lead from a Dion Donohue penalty and then doubled their advantage two minutes after half-time from recent signing Jamie Sheldon.

Loughborough Dynamo lost top spot after being held to a 2-2 draw at home by Stafford Rangers, who fought back from being 2-0 down.

Rob Norris from the spot after 12 minutes and Joe Pheasant 10 minutes later gave the hosts` their advantage. Christian Dacres began Rangers' comeback 60 seconds after the break and then Ryan Wynter levelled with 11 minutes to go.

Newcastle Town are third after a late 2-0 home win over Goole AFC, Jordan Cole proving to be Castle's hero on the day by bagging both goals in the final four minutes of normal time.

Gresley FC are now seventh after beating Rainworth Miners Welfare 4-2 at The Moat.

Alex Steadman gave the Moatmen an 18th minute lead but the Wrens raced into a 2-1 lead, thanks to goals from Grant Ryan on 24 minutes and Alex Ford a minute before half-time. Kieran O`Connell equalised 12 minutes into the second period and then Brad Wells on 66 and O`Connell again seven minutes from time, won it for the home side.

Lincoln United made it back-to-back wins at now third-bottom Market Drayton Town. United, who had won only once in their previous seven games, won through goals from Sam Duncum after 24 minutes and Scott Ruthuen on 56 minutes.

Carlton Town went above Market Drayton after a 3-1 home win against Brigg Town.

Lee Potts broke the deadlock to give the Nottinghamshire side a 58th minute lead. Alex Troke quickly doubled that lead two minutes later and Jack Walker added a third with 12 minutes to go – Dan Buttle`s 80th minute penalty being a consolation for the Zebras.

Second-bottom Stocksbridge Park Steels continue to struggle and were beaten 2-1 at Bracken Moor by Romulus, whose Lee Smith gave them an eighth minute lead. Rikardo Reid doubled the Roms' advantage four minutes after the break, with Nathan Joynes netting an 82nd minute penalty reply for Steels.
