Arnison, 32, hails from Whitehaven and has previously played for FC United, Kendal Town and Barrow.
He made nine appearances for FC United during the 2016/17 season.
But it was at Workington where he made his name, establishing himself as a modern day legend at Borough Park, scoring 127 goals in 346 appearances across nine seasons, breaking several club records.
The forward could make his debut in the Cheshire Senior Cup tie at Chester FC on Tuesday evening, after he was ineligible to play in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round defeat to Solihull Moors.
