Ball rolls up his sleeves promotion

By David Watters

EVO-STIK League promotion-chasers Stamford have added target man Callum Ball to Graham Drury's strike force.

The 25-year-old former Derby County, Coventry City, Notts County, St Mirren and Torquay United striker, pictured, could be up front for the Daniels boss's sixth-placed side at Sheffield FC on Saturday after switching from EVO-STIK League Premier Division Barwell on Thursday.

Since leaving St Mirren and Scotland in April 2015, the frontman, pictured, has also turned out for Nuneaton Town and Corby Town before leaving the Steelmen last season to sign for Barwell in November 2016.

Ball is likely to be one of the biggest names on Saturday's official transfer list recording the week's player movements involving EVO-STIK League clubs.

After joining Derby County's youth system at the age of nine from local rivals Nottingham Forest, the striker progressed after becoming a scholar in the Derby County Academy. During a loan at Coventry City before being released by the Rams in 2014, he scored against Arsenal for the Sky Blues in the EFL Cup.
