Basford eye cup upset

Basford United are looking to create a cup upset when National League North side Curzon Ashton visit on Saturday.

The former NPL champions are in town for an FA Trophy third qualifying round clash at Greenwich Avenue.

Basford are eight games unbeaten at home and have won nine of their 11 home games this season and are hoping a bumper crowd will get behind them this weekend.

Chairman Chris Munroe said: “The way the fixtures have fallen means all three professional clubs in the county are away this Saturday.

“We are promoting high value and low admission prices, with £9 adults and £6 concessions. The family offer at £15 for families of four is high value.”
