Basford get TV and radio treatment

To mark Non League Day, Basford United will be featuring on local media in Nottingham, with the club being at the centre of local TV and radio coverage.

On Friday evening BBC Radio Nottingham's The Terrace programme will be broadcast from Basford's Greenwich Avenue ground, and will feature interviews with club officials.

Interviews will also be transmitted on a Saturday programme on Radio Nottingham focussing on the running of non-league football clubs.

Central TV cameras will be attending the Basford United v Stalybridge Celtic game on Saturday and will be conducting interviews with club officials, players and supporters for broadcast on Monday night.

Basford director Neil McGowan said: "It's great to see local media taking an interest in clubs at our level and with no Football League games in the city on Saturday hopefully it will encourage more supporters to discover what is on offer in non league.

"Also it will bring the Evo Stik League to a new audience which can only be good for the profile of the league."
